Who is T-Rex
Thomas was born at just 25 weeks and 5 days, arriving far earlier than expected. His early days were filled with uncertainty as he faced numerous medical challenges. After several attempts to extubate him, a trip to Seattle for a PDA closure, and a range of intensive interventions, Thomas was diagnosed with bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD).
He spent the first 11 months of his life in the hospital. When he was finally able to go home, it was with a tracheostomy and a ventilator to support his breathing.
Today, Thomas is a happy and resilient 2-year-old, continuing to make progress as he works toward weaning off respiratory support at home.
His journey inspired his mom, Bobbi, to create T-Rex Little Lungs—a place of support, resources, and community for families navigating the challenges of BPD. No one should have to face this journey alone.
